Senior Biodiversity Officer

PT Asco Prima Nusantara is seeking a Senior Biodiversity Officer to join our team in Kaimana, Papua Barat. As the primary biodiversity specialist on-site for the Lengguru Conservation Area, you will play a crucial role in protecting and conserving the region's rich natural heritage. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in one of Indonesia's most biodiverse regions, contributing to global conservation efforts while experiencing the natural beauty of Papua Barat.

In this role, you will conduct field research, monitor species diversity, and implement conservation strategies to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources. You'll work closely with local communities, government agencies, and international partners to develop and execute conservation projects. Daily, you'll be out in the field, using advanced tools like GIS software and field data collection apps, while also collaborating with our team to analyze data and create impactful reports.

📋 Tanggung Jawab Pekerjaan

• Conduct field research and biodiversity surveys using GIS software and field data collection apps
• Monitor and assess the status of flora and fauna in the Lengguru Conservation Area
• Develop and implement conservation strategies to protect endangered species and ecosystems
• Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable land use practices
• Prepare and submit reports, proposals, and funding applications for conservation projects
• Participate in capacity-building workshops and training programs for local conservationists
• Assist in the development and management of conservation education programs
• Ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations

🎓 Kualifikasi & Syarat

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in biodiversity conservation, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian biodiversity, particularly in Papua Barat
• Proficiency in English and local languages
• Certification in GIS or other relevant conservation technologies
• Experience with field data collection and analysis using software like ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar
• Understanding of conservation funding mechanisms and grant writing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments
